So you’ve got an emulator installed on your Android device, along with a few ROM, and you think you’re pretty cool. Well, I can pretty much bet you that [Sk3tch]‘s geek-fu is better then yours. He took an NES controller, connected it to a Bluetooth module, and plays his NES on a controller, while you fumble around with your SEND and Home buttons.
So the Skitterbot is a slightly creepy, mostly cool little remote control robot that’s being advertised as “the world’s fastest legged micro-robotic toy”. The Skitterbot is available in four different colors, each representing a different frequency so you can race, battle, or just torment your cat with them. I like the fact that they charge off of a USB port, and are quite reasonably priced at $19.99 each. The 5 function remote allows you to move the Skitterbot forward, back, left, right, and stop. Japanese watch maker Haruo Suekichi is famous for his unique, steampunk style timepieces. Each of the amazing watches is handmade by Suekichi himself, even though he doesn’t have any formal education and actually started his career by hawking the first watches at flea markets. Guest writer Natsuki Yamada sat down with Suekichi in his studio in Tokyo earlier this month to conduct the following interview for CrunchGear.
A lot of noise gets made about nanotechnology. “Nano” is a prefix people like to use because it sounds futuristic and everyone knows that really small stuff is awesome. But the physical and chemical laws governing interactions at scales of a billionth of a meter are so far beyond our ability to reliably control them that you may as well just forget about nanomachines altogether. I love future toys, too, but unrealistic expectations of science and industry end up making things worse for everybody.

You know what? The LG Marketing VP should get a raise. Stating the LG Optimus Tablet will be better than the iPad to the Wall Street Journal won the Internet today. It is without a doubt one of the most talked about tech stories of the day, which means the VP of Marketing simply did his job.
It runs Android! It has a screen! It’s cheap! What’s not to love. Apparently plenty, because good old Doug (remember him?) just looked at the Pandigital Novel, the latest member in the craplet family coming out of Asia these days.
